The purchase amount will be tracked in USD, but the cashback amount will be converted to AUD in your Cashrewards account. The cashback you received on approval may vary from the pending cashback shown in your account due to currency conversion rates.
To be eligible for cashback via the Trip.com app, you must already have the Trip.com app installed before you tap "Shop Now" from the Cashrewards app.
For hotel bookings where any part of the price will be paid at the hotel, the initial pending cashback shown in your account is calculated based on the purchase amount paid online upon booking checkout only. The cashback amount will be adjusted after completion of your stay to include cashback calculated on the remaining purchase amount paid at the hotel. Cashback for hotel bookings is calculated on the net hotel price inclusive of taxes, but excluding additional fees and service charges.
Where a purchase (under any cashback category) has been automatically discounted on Trip.com or paid for using store credits (such as Trip Coins), cashback will be calculated based on the price after the discount or store credit has been applied .
Any changes made to your booking after purchase will invalidate cashback.
Cashback is ineligible on the following:
- Flight tickets for children or infants.
- Car rental insurance.
- Purchases using any non-Cashrewards incentives (offers, links, newsletters, secret prices).
- Purchases of gift cards or use of gift cards for full or partial payment.
- Purchases using coupon codes not listed on Cashrewards.
- Purchases that are amended, cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
- GST and other taxes, levies and surcharges for flights on purchases under the Flights (excl Domestic China), Flight + Hotel, and Domestic China Flights categories.
- Fraudulent transactions.
- Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.
