Reflections on Cashrewards reported data
The gender pay gap is defined as the difference in average earnings between women and men in the workforce. It is not to be confused with women and men being paid the same for the same, or comparable, job.
Cashrewards’ median gender pay gap based on the 2022-23 WGEA is 21.2% for total remuneration. A positive percentage indicates men are paid more on average than women. The gender pay gap can largely be attributed to the significant presence of our workforce in our Product & Technology team. This is a traditionally male dominated industry with higher than average remuneration due to skill demand. It is important to emphasise we don’t pay people differently based on their gender. Remuneration is determined by factors such as role, internal and industry benchmarks, qualifications and experience.
During the reporting period (2022-2023), 50% of appointments to manager roles, including promotions, were female. This result reflects our ongoing efforts to create programs and foster an environment that attracts and promotes females, contributing to narrowing the gender pay gap. Our progress in this area has been further recognised by our inclusion on the list of Best Places to Work for Women in 2023.
